PHOTO TIPS

Photo Tips for Pet Portraits.

If you are thinking about a pet portrait commission, it is important to have a good quality image. The clarity of the image affects the finished result, so the more detail, the better. Of course, there are times when this is not possible, perhaps if the portrait is a surprise gift, or when working from older photos for a memorial portrait. In this case, I am happy to advise if your images are suitable, and often work from several to capture details.

Natural lighting is best in a photo, so taking a picture outside on a cloudy day, is a good idea. Sunlight sometimes produces harsh shadows on the face, so this is best avoided. You may also take a photo in a room, by a big window that provides plenty of natural lighting.

If you are unsure on which image to choose, I can advise which will be most suitable for the portrait.

Please see below, some good examples of portrait photos.
